Hey there! Let’s be friends!

Hi! I’m Janine, a Mexico-obsessed Canadian who spent over 4 years living as an expat in southern Mexico. 

I’ve called both Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo and Xalapa, Veracruz home, and I’ve visited about 18 of Mexico’s 32 states (not that I’m into counting), and every single one of them has something unique and special to offer.

Yes, even Tlaxcala.

I know what it’s like to be a solo woman on the road, longing for community. I’ve weathered culture shock, made all kinds of embarrassing Spanish-language blunders, and navigated the countless challenges of life in a foreign country.

While solo travel and expat life have tested my resolve, I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.
