Dark mode

[edit]

This page is not readable with dark mode. Nemoralis (talk) 00:50, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Missing auto-categorization

[edit]

The {{Wiki Loves Folklore 2025}} does not auto-categorization into the given regional category like the equivalents for WLE and WLM do. Is this intentional? GPSLeo (talk) 07:14, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @GPSLeo it is done by {{Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 country}} ✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 13:10, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So it is intended to always place both or only {{Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 country}} and not {{Wiki Loves Folklore 2025}} on file pages? GPSLeo (talk) 13:15, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yes, both the templates are recommended. ✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 13:25, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
the special upload wizard does that automatically but manual uploads require both templates. ✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 13:26, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. I think this is currently missing at the rules page that only mentions the {{Wiki Loves Folklore 2025}} template. GPSLeo (talk) 13:34, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. I have uploaded File:Bangkok-chaintown-chinese-new-year.jpg on behalf of the author, who is not a regular member Wikipedia/Wikimedia community. The author has licensed the photo under a suitable license, has agreed to have the photo uploaded to Commons, and the photo has not been uploaded online prior to this. I would love to enter it for the contest, but I notice now that the rules state that the uploader must own the copyright. :( Is the photo ineligible despite having a valid copyright status because I, the uploader, do not own the copyright? I'm happy to forfeit any future prize/recognition/credit to the author should the photo win any. Melmann (talk) 20:21, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Melmann please follow the VRT System on commons --✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 02:22, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The author is not a Wikipedian/Wikimedian. Following the VRT processes is onerous when they've already graciously agreed to license the image under a suitable license based on my request, and don't have an interest in contributing to the community further.
If that's what's requied, I won't proceed with nominating the photo in question. Thanks for your help and I'd like to suggest you consider relaxing this rule in the future. Melmann (talk) 09:22, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Competitions are bad approach

[edit]

Why do we create a habit of money and encourage competition when we should be encouraging cooperation and volunteerism? There are competitions on the Czech Wikipedia almost every month and they are already negatively reflected in arguments over prizes and bad moods. Juandev (talk) 09:50, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Juandev,
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I'd like to offer an alternative view on how competitions are structured within our community. Our campaigns invite participation from users worldwide, and entries undergo a thorough jury process. Only a very small percentage of submissions receive prizes. The intent is not to promote monetary gain but to recognize exceptional contributions in a way that complements our spirit of volunteerism. In this framework, competitions serve as a healthy mechanism to highlight and celebrate outstanding efforts while still encouraging collaboration and community involvement.
Best regards,
✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 11:27, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Listed categories

[edit]

Hi, Rule 5 on the rules subpage says: "Eligible submissions include media (images, audios and videos) associated with any of the listed categories." - which categories do you mean? -- Ailura (talk) 20:22, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Tiven2240 can you help us with this question? I have problems to get the meaning of this rule :-) greetings Z thomas 11:14, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi the categories refered here are mentioned in the scope section on the project page. Hope that clarifies ✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 11:19, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The Scope section says "include, but not limited to", "may encompass", "inspiration" and "examples". If submissions must be from a list, there should be a list. Ailura (talk) 11:43, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

شرکت عکاسان کشور ایران

[edit]

Ghadeghan54 (talk) 19:14, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
